Fans Buy AFL Tickets in High Numbers as Finals Series Approaches

As the AFL teams head towards the finals series and the crowning of a champion in the first week of spring, fans have been buying AFL tickets at a fast rate. They look to cheer their clubs towards what they hope will be Grand Final success.

Near-Record Numbers of Fans Attend Round 5

Early on in 2017, it was clear that the number of people passionate about footy was going to be high this season. The fifth weekend of the season, from 21-25 April, a total of 391,980 football fans cheered at nine stadiums, just missing the record of 400,401.

The MCG will also be the destination for Aussie Rules fans who buy AFL tickets for the 2017 Grand Final. The AFL Grand Final is the biggest event in Australian sport which is held at the MCG. In fact, this famous venue has played host to every Grand Final with one exception since 1945.

That big game will be preceded by the rest of the Finals series, and many footy fans are buying AFL tickets for several of those games too. Of the 18 AFL sides, eight of them will advance to the Finals series with the top four guaranteed at least two games. Footy fans from around the country look forward to the final series.
